CASSA
Arts Workshop 2018-2019

The CASSA Arts Workshop under the direction of Ruth Stenstrom, ATR-BC, is completing its 30th year of providing arts services for participants of Clean & Sober Streets. This year the Workshop is being assisted by C&SS Clinical Director Nisha Tracy, LPC, ATR, and two George Washington University graduate art therapy interns -- Jenny Christakos and Linnea Hatteberg.

Participants work individually and in groups in a variety of drawing and painting, mixed media, fused glass and jewelry media. Examples of fine artwork from our open studio program are shown below.

Participants have the option to participate in biweekly trips to local museums and arts spaces. So far this year we have visited exhibits at the National Gallery of Art East and West Wings, the American Indian Museum, the Hirshhorn Gallery of Art, the Botanical Garden, the Post Office museum,
the National Portrait Gallery, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

The CASSA Arts Workshop is funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities, an agency supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
