The CASSA Arts Workshop began its new season in September, 2011, under the direction of Ruth Stenstrom, ATR-BC with assistance by GWU Art Therapy Graduate Interns and artists Stewart Morgan and Stephanie Tyler.

Workshops have included painting/meditation, mixed media altered books and boxes, murals, music composition, mask-making and phototherapy, with photo shoots to the Capitol and nearby monuments.

2011 - 2012

 
 

Participants attended bi-weekly museum trips to the “30 Artists” Exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Andy Warhol exhibit at the National Gallery of Art, to SAAM--the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Ten Years After 9/11 at the Edison Gallery,The Black List at the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of the American Indian, the Air & Space Museum, the Impressionist galleries at the National Gallery of Art and the Andy Warhol “Shadows” and “Color, Light, Shadow” exhibits at the Hirschhorn Gallery, the Hokusai Exhibit at the Sackler, the African Art Museum and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
