In addition special groups are working with portraits and a variety of techniques with altered books. This spring participants have also taken  nine  trips to the East and West Wings of National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of the American Indian, the Air and Space Museum, the African Art Museum and the Hirshhorn Museum of Art.


                       

    Directed by Ruth Stenstrom and  GWU art therapy interns Cara Reiner and Diana Morrow, the CASSA Arts Workshop has welcomed over 250 men and women this year who have the option of  exploring painting and drawing in pencil, charcoal, pastels, collage, photography and digital arts, acrylic and watercolors, as well as sculptural work with masks and polymer clay.
